bird watching

My father and I have always been pretty similar. We both have slightly larger stacks of paper laying around than is really necessary, we are both graced wonderful spouses that feed us amazingly well and we both like blue grass music a whole lot. But I told Jake a few years ago that when I started watching birds, things will have gone too far and to let me know that I had turned fully into JTF. Well, the time has come and I think I'm just fine with being like Dad in this way too.

Last week I spent some time in MO and most mornings Mom, Dad and I had coffee together in the sun room and waited for their bird friends to stop by. Thanks to the new 70-200/2.8 lens we got some fun shots. I put off posting these because I kept thinking I would have time to edit them but I realized tonight that it just isn't going to happen so here are my best straight-out-of-camera Missouri bird shots. Enjoy!

Hey Erika, I love these shots and I love the fact that you're becoming a bird watcher. I too am becoming more and more like my Felts elders...

How did you get such a vast colorful arrangement?

Great shots Erika-- the colors all really stand out. Have you thought about specializing in photos of birds and kittens?
